Snow Creek Group was founded in 2024 by Riley Hillis after eight years building and running the capital markets division at Hughes Marino. The firm invests its own and its partners' capital in commercial real estate and private businesses, and advises companies, owners and investors through SCG Advisory.

We combine institutional underwriting with hands-on execution. On the investment side, we buy where basis, structure and active ownership can create value, and we operate what we own. On the advisory side, we raise and structure capital for businesses and real estate owners and advise on acquisitions, dispositions and real estate strategy.
The two businesses inform each other. Clients get advice tested against our own capital, and our investments benefit from the market view that comes with an active advisory practice. We work with companies and investors of every size, from a single-building owner or a founder-led business to a national company rethinking its real estate.

Riley Hillis
Founder and Managing PartnerRiley founded Snow Creek Group after roughly eight years at Hughes Marino, where he started the firm's capital markets division, later HM Secured, and ran it as Senior Managing Director. He grew the platform to five offices nationwide and completed more than $1 billion in advisory assignments, including buy-side and sell-side representation, institutional sales to REITs and private capital groups, tenant representation, debt brokerage, joint venture structuring, sale-leasebacks and owner-occupied corporate acquisitions. Clients included Scanlan Kemper Bard, Terreno Realty, Thor Equities, Brennan Investment Group, SteelWave and Dalfen Industrial.
Before real estate, Riley played in the Western Hockey League for the Tri-City Americans and, after injuries ended his hockey career, walked on to the University of Colorado football team as a running back. He is a CU Boulder graduate, a licensed Colorado broker and the managing broker of SCG Advisory LLC. Alongside the firm he runs a concentrated public markets practice focused on small and micro-cap companies, underwritten with the same basis, trend and business plan framework the firm applies to real estate.
